GRIDTECH 2013 – 4th International Exhibition and Conference on New Technologies

P. Uma Shankar, Power Secretary said that GRIDTECH 2013 is aiming to form a common platform which would showcase emerging technologies and state of the art products in Power Systems through Generation, Transmission and Distribution with focus on Smart Grid/City and Renewable Energy Integration to International/National Power Utilities, Planners, Policy Makers, Investors, Consultants, Academicians, Research Institutions etc. This makes it possible to integrate new technologies in the Power Sector which would in-turn benefit everyone. This event will also help in the identifying business opportunities in the electricity market in India and overseas.
Active participation and sharing of experience/views from utilities, manufacturers/supplier community, experts and other delegates will lead to the success of this International event and might grow some concrete strategies towards efficient development of T&D sector and an effective application of emerging technologies in Transmission, Distribution, Load Despatch & Communication through Smart Grid to deliver economic power with desired security, safety, reliability & above all, the affordability, said Uma Shankar and hoped that this conference would contribute to efficiently develop Indian Power Sector.
Response from manufactures, academicians as well as experts in this field from India and all around the world has been high for the conference and around 120 International and National manufactures are expected to showcase their State-of-the-Art products & technologies in the exhibition. The exhibition is setup to take place at Hall 9, 10 & 11.
In the conference, more than 80 technical papers on various facets of power system like 1200kV, 800kV HVDC, Voltage Source Converter, GIS, Synchronophasor measurement, WAMS, Smart Grid, renewables, distribution & electricity market are to be presented.
POWERGRID would be demonstrating a real life working of Smart Grid/City to showcase the solution and to recognize the importance on the development of smart grid/city for sustainability. There is also a separate setup, “Students Innovation Pavilion”, that showcases the working model of various new technologies in Indian context by the student community from more than forty(40) technical institutions in India and abroad.
